How to honour the past but fast forward a home into the future? That was the challenge for the clients of this Lower Hutt home, which had been in the family for multiple generations and needed a significant renovation whist maintaining its heritage.

Continuing with the home’s original nod to quality building, the kitchen and living areas were opened up to facilitate entertaining and modern living opening out to the large garden area.

An extension incorporated a new master suite and children’s loft space, while expansive decking and stacking doors link the home with the mature garden.

The result is a spacious, modern oasis designed for family living right in the heart of Lower Hutt city.
